Asian American Violence Safety Resources

 

Amidst the recent Covid-19 pandemic, attacks against Asian Americans have increased at an alarming rate. CCHRC’s team has compiled the following resources to help you navigate these occurrences, raise awareness, and keep you and your loved ones safe.

 

Please consider the following safety tips:  

    1. Keep cash in a separate money clip or pouch
    2. Carry a personal alarm, whistle, and flashlights
    3. Walk on the curb facing traffic
    4. Recognize and be aware of your surroundings
    5. Travel with a companion
    6. Shop with a family member or a loved one
    7. Locate exits and entrances while grocery shopping 
    8. Lock doors once inside your vehicle
    9. Stay in well-lit areas
    10. Keep 6 feet away from strangers
    11. Notify loved ones of plans in advance
    12. Call 9-1-1 or a hate crime hotline immediately
