Vision Health Day was a collaborative effort to provide culturally-appropriate and in-language vision health-related education information and screening to monolingual and bilingual Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking San Francisco Bay Area community members. Educational topics included macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, floaters, dry eyes, pink eyes, and nutrition and eye health. Vision and preventive health screenings were also provided. In 2008, Vision Health Day drew over 1200 participants from the San Francisco Bay Area.
